Do you have a story to tell, one you would like to share with other EMS professionals? I have an idea that can take the good work happening in the USFRA "Triage Room" and go to the next level with it.
I'm a 30 year medic that has spent my career in ERs, the back of an ambulance, and in fire stations. I also work on a federal disaster medical assistance team. Between EMS and disaster work, I have plenty of experiences. As a writer, I find it cathartic to write things down, and even more so to share them. I just submitted a story about my Ground Zero experience for an anthology.
I have learned podcasting with the intention of podcasting my EMS related novel. It occurred to me that this would be an awesome way for EMS providers to share their stories. This could be done a number of ways: you could record them and send the file to me, or you could write them down and I could record them. Other options would be whether you would like them heard only on this site, or would like out in the larger world through iTunes. You could submit with your own name, or a pseudonym. If you choose, we can include a little bio about you and your career.
The purpose of this is to allow you to tell the stories that you think others in the profession would appreciate, be entertained by, or even educated by. All the stories would be handled with the utmost respect. There can also be an opportunity to discuss them through this forum. I'm sure you'll find how much they are appreciated by others.
If you're interested, post on this forum or you can contact me privately at snowmedic@aol.com.
Thanks for the opportunity to serve the EMS Community.
