Aside from investigating fire scenes, the physically grueling part of this job, the toughest part of this job is being deposed in court. During the ITC in Orlando this year, the question was posed; How do you get the needed support for our investigators from upper management and get them to understand how important it is? My answer was; Show them investigators being vivisected on the stand. Preparation is the best and only way to insure survival on the stand. Leaning what to expect while on the stand from a lawyer is one of the best ways to prepare.
