Started in 1959, The BackStoppers provides needed financial assistance and support to the spouses and dependent children of all police officers, firefighters and volunteer firefighters, and publicly-funded paramedics and EMTs in our coverage area who have lost their lives or suffered a catastrophic injury performing their duty.
It was my hope to find one that helps police, fire and EMT.
I'm not sure, but it is something we are hoping to get started within the next year.
I don't know of anything like it either, but I am happy to hear USFRA is looking into it.
That is a great question. I do not know but they reached out to me when I asked for an organization that is close to me. There is something in Detroit called 100 club of Detroit. I called 100 club of Detroit to ask if I could volunteer to help out. They said that they only have 2 events and they were all set.
