"Public Safety Serving Our Community Through Training, Tactics & Education"

Chad Muncie is the Program Manager for the DOD Technology Outreach Center at the Public Safety Academy in Fort Wayne. Attached there is some information about the Robotic Loan Program and so much more.

This is a FREE Program. DOD Technology Outreach Center are trying to reach First Responders within a 250 mile radius of Fort Wayne and eventually the United States. DOD Technology Outreach Center is trying to put Robots in a place where it is to dangerous to put a human being.

There are many different tasks in which the Robots can be a part of. Chad will sit down and talk with you a little more in depth about our Loan Program and also bring a Robot with me to demonstrate and allow you time to operate the Robot as well.

What do you have to lose? This is a FREE Loan Program that is available for a 4 month Loan. The only thing Chad would need from you is feedback on what you liked or didn’t like about the Robot. If you didn’t like the Robot you have, then you can borrow a different one. So please, take a look at the Robot Pool and see if anything interests you. If you want a little more information, please go to www.gorobot.com.

There are also a lot more equipment available to you then robots. The Department of Defense (DoD) also has a program, the 1401 Technology Transfer program. This program works to identify, evaluate, deploy, and transfer technology, items, and equipment to Federal, State, and local first responders. There are many different items and equipment that are available to you as a First Responder through DoD programs and initiatives. For instance, there is a Night Vision Loan program with devices that can be loaned to law enforcement and corrections agencies for a period of 1 year at the cost of $300.

Traycee, there is a great group, nationally focused, that the USFRA should get to know. It is called "DoD Firstlink" - a federally-funded group, and their organization's Mission Statement is: "Dod FirstLink is the Department of Defense National Center of Excellence for First Responder Technology Transfer. FirstLink helps the Department of Defense connect with private sector companies and entrepreneurs to advance technologies for our nation’s First Responders. As the nation’s first National Center of Excellence for First Responder Technologies, our services are provided through a partnership with the United States Department of Defense Office of Technology Transition and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Through our partnerships, FirstLink facilitates the creation, transfer and evaluation of technology to help protect and save the lives of those who protect and save our lives." Their website is: http://www.dodfirstlink.com/
If interested, I recommend you contact (using my name as a reference): Brittany McCracken, bmccracken@dodfirstlink.com
Tel: (724) 933-3532.
Regards,
Peter Gladis
