14-Jun-2018 - FDNY is in the process of placing a decal on every ambulance warning would-be attackers that assaulting an EMT or paramedic is a felony.
EMS Station 26 in the Bronx’s Morrisania neighborhood, where slain EMT Yadira Arroyo worked, will be the first to get the decals, FDNY officials said. A career criminal ran Arroyo down with her own ambulance on March 16, 2017.
A state law passed February 2016 made assaulting on-duty EMS personnel a felony.
So far, there have been 87 attacks on EMS personnel this year.
