Matthew 24:3 Jesus’ disciples asked for a sign of His Coming and the end of the world.
Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 24 There will be many false religious teachers: false christs and false prophets who will deceive and mislead many.
Revelation 13:13-14 Satan and his agents will perform signs and wonders to deceive people.

Great post Etta! Earlier today (before reading this) I had mentioned Noah and a verse from Timothy in an email exchange with a friend about preparedness. 1 Timothy 5:8 says “... if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” The verse was used in a blog series called "Blind Faith" discussing the need for faith-based communities to take more responsibility about disaster preparedness. Churches do a wonderful job helping with response and recovery, but should get more involved in the mitigation and preparedness side of things too. (The author of the 3-part Blind Faith series is a friend and partner of ours and a USFRA member [Eddy Weiss].)
