ZDNet estimates there are 1.2 billion Windows PCs worldwide, with 1 billion running Windows 10. That means roughly 200 million PCs worldwide are still running older Windows versions, mostly Windows 7 and they'll be prime targets for scammers and crooks.
Going forward, the best way to stay more secure is on Windows 10 on a new PC or device. While it is possible to install Windows 10 on your older device, Microsoft says is not recommended.
According to Daves Computer Tips, as of now you can still upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free, but that probably won't be the case after extended support ends Jan 2020.
We all new this was coming, and I do have a computer that has Windows 7, oh well
me too and sure do prefer 7 over 10 but won't be using that notebook online anymore (sigh)
