According to Wikipedia, Hurricane Dorian was an extremely powerful, long-lived, and destructive tropical cyclone that devastated the northwestern Bahamas and caused significant damage to the Southeastern United States and Atlantic Canada.
"Planes, cruise ships and yachts were evacuating people from the Abaco Islands and officials were trying to reach areas still isolated by flooding and debris," The Associated Press said. Grand Bahama Island was also routed.
Shelters and temporary housing were being set up for the homeless and government officials were urging residents to take in their fellow Bahamians.

Dr. Alison Thompson's posted on Third Wave Volunteers Facebook page ... "So proud of our team of volunteers and donors, it is overwhelming the amount of supplies and love that we have been receiving! Thanks to everyone’s help we have been sending an average of 5 planes/boats full of supplies everyday. And thanks to our local crew in the Bahamas the supplies are being distributed immediately from the moment that hits the ground. We can’t describe the joy of the people when they receive the supplies!!
We are in need of: cleaning supplies, diapers, hygiene kits, cookers, pans and pots, camping stoves.

Team Rubicon says Home Cleanup Hotline 844-965-1386 is open to all survivors of Hurricane Dorian to include but not limited to #USVI #PuertoRico #Bahamas and FL, GA, SC and NC between Mon Sep 2 through Fri Sep 20, 2019. More at www.crisiscleanup.org
Per Team Rubicon blog, they have formally launched a large-scale response operation in the Bahamas. To have as much impact in affected communities as possible, our operation is taking a two-pronged approach – pulling both from our mobile medical and traditional core capabilities
In order to support immediate and emerging healthcare needs, we have our WHO-verified Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Type 1 Mobile on Great Abaco Island. This team is made up of 16 Team Rubicon Greyshirts who have already answered two rapid response calls from the EMT Coordination Cell to treat patients. Their goals are to work with the Bahamas Ministry of Health, the National Emergency Management Agency, and the Pan-American Health Organization to help stabilize the situation, provide mobile medical care in hard-to-reach and remote areas, and help to monitor for and prevent disease outbreaks.
