R.I.P. Michael Cammarata............. We Will Never Forget. "Hero - someone who rushes in while others Rush Out"

In 2002 in Honor of the attacks on the US a man Named Randall West ( a friend of mine) Hosted a flag pole and flag to the top of a Rock in Farmington Utah. He began hosting annual September 11th hikes to the flag.

The feature that really brought tears to my eyes is that 'From the flag placement down to the main road is the Height the World Trade Center stood." ( accidentally by the way this was never the intention when placed) I came across this hike in 2006. As a Survivor of the World Trade Center collapse ( I am a former EMT) this hike was something I wanted to try. I hosted the event in 2007 as the host had knee surgery, then again I hosted in 2008.

This year the City of Farmington Utah has accepted the Trail to Flag rock and has made this an official City Trail. The founder Randall West has been appointed as the Trail Chief.

If anyone is interested in joining this Hike please feel free to contact me. We will be starting at the Farmington City Fire House. I am certain our fellow Brothers in Farmington as well as several community members would gladly host you while here to offset the cost. Many have already expressed that they would host our fellow firefighters if they come.

If you have ever wondered what it was like at the top of the WTC here is a small glimpse of what is was like.

Sincerely,

Damian Darcy

This terrible incident had one positive outcome, it brought to the attention of America and the world the dedication of our fire service and police depts. Too often people just take us for granted, pick up the phone and dial 911. Nobody should ever forget or lower our guard to further attacks.
