Pulled in many directions

Well, life is getting more crazy everyday. Been doing everyday stuff in a half leg cast as my foot is broken ( this happen 6 weeks ago). I recently received confirmation that the funding we worked and fought hard for was approved and our new Fire House is being built. Sadly I couldn't enjoy this as I received recently the anger igniting new that our new Nurse Practitioner had been dismissed without real reasons. She was on a 6 month probation and had done NOTHING clinically or medically wrong. In fact her collaborating Dr was still supporting her. Thus the fight of this community started. I broke the news to my Health boards both here and in town and the Islands Health committee kicked into gear. I personally confronted the minister of health over poor decision making with dismissing a perfectly good NP in a community where we have barely a dr and the ER room is closed most days of the week. If we have a patient thats sick and needs to be in the hospital its now anywheres from 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs to get them there. We have held public meetings, protest, email writting, phone calls and sign postings. Media is involved and i am pleased to say this Friday we have a meeting with the health board who released her. Plus of course i have been traveling alot to HFX for meetings and for my mum who is really not doing so well. Last but not least, i found out today my foot hasnt healed and is actually worse....thus now I am to see a surgeon for repair work...lovely....

My vent is tho.....the medical world is in such a mess. There is no reason nowdays with the taxes we pay that we cant have Drs and hospitals open. Also, its not responsible to rid of those who can do this work simply on a reason that they have personality conflicts?? how stupid is that. I know alot of people in the First Responder world often have alot of pokers in the fire so to speak....Let me hear about your busy and crazy world.
