Chief Wagner, Chief Lord, Chief Darr, and Chief Bundrick were presented with a Patriot Award on November 25, 2019, by Jack McNair, DoD-ESGR Area Chair, in recognition of their extraordinary support of their employee, Florida Army National Guard Sergeant First Class Bryan Hernandez.
• “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered the Nation’s call to serve,” said Jack McNair, Florida Area 1 Chair. The Chiefs were nominated for being highly supportive of Sergeant First Class Hernandez. Supportive managers and supervisors are absolutely critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the Nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
• Sergeant Hernandez said, “I have the absolute and unwavering support of Chief Wagner, Lord, Darr and Bundrick in regard to all aspects of my military service. From scheduled drill weekends and annual training to State Emergency duty, and most recently my Contingency Operations/Active Duty Operational Support orders requiring my deployment to Afghanistan. I’ve had nothing but well wishes and inquiries of how they can support me.”
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
