Profile Information

About Me
I'm a retired Fire Fighter, EMT/F.I. of 26 years. I lived in Eastern N.C. for the first 50 years of my life and now live in North East Georgia...and LOVE IT..!!

I started out wanting to go into the Military out of High School, but with playing football, I "messed up" both knees and the Military wouldn't take me. So I went into the Fire Service and spent 26 years as a volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT/Fire Investigator and LOVED every minute of it. Yeah, I was a "vollie" for all of those years, but with the jobs I've had and to be a career F.F., I would have had to take a major pay cut. So, this way I was working a job and doing what I loved to do, I told others that being a Volunteer Fire Fighter was the best non-paying job I've ever had. Most of my training was paid for by the Dept. but ALL of my investigation training, I paid for out of my pocket. My Chief at the time said that the City wouldn't pay for my training, so he helped me with it as much as he could. Chief Lofton was the best of the best in my eyes and he made damn sure that we ALL did and gave our best also. He commanded a career/volunteer dept. of 44 members and out of the County we served, we were ranked #1.

I live in Northern Georgia with my new love, Meri. She is a life saver in my eyes after having lost my late wife Kay, to cancer in 2006. Meri is a strong woman in many ways, but for her to get me to "open up" about the pass 30 years of my life the way she has, is really something as I'm not one to just let it all out, but she never said a word, she was just there and I feel so at ease with her.

Life is a funny thing, I've served with some that were there just for a job and I've served with those that could care less about the pay, it was all about helping, caring, being the one to go that extra mile. I know, I was that person. As for my personality, well, my pictures and my music show that better than I could ever tell it.... more later..

Firefighters help waitress after she pays for their meal.(Great job Brothers..!)

Posted on August 5, 2015 at 7:48am 0 Comments

DELRAN, NJ (ABC via Pathfire) - Two firefighters from New Jersey have been trying to raise money for a waitress, and her sick father, after she treated them to breakfast one morning. Those firefighters finally met the woman's father face to face with a big surprise.

Lives were unexpectedly drawn together by Liz Woodward's now famous act of kindness while working the overnight shift at the Route 130 diner in Delran.

"All I did was pay for their breakfast and I didn't think…

Reno, Sparks fire chiefs call for smart meter probe

Posted on September 15, 2014 at 10:35am 2 Comments

Anjeanette Damon, RGJ 7:19 p.m. PDT September 13, 2014

The Reno and Sparks fire chiefs are asking the Public Utilities Commission to investigate the safety of smart meters installed by NV Energy on homes throughout the state in the wake of a troubling spate of blazes they believe are associated with the meters, including one recent fire that killed a 61-year-old woman.

Since 2012, four fires have occurred in Reno and five fires have occurred in Sparks that city… Continue

The True meaning of the 1st Amendment article of "Freedom of Religion", our very first Freedom.

Posted on September 23, 2012 at 9:00am 3 Comments

During the past few years, I have been researching for a book I'm writing, in doing so, I find articles on the Constitution and the "true meaning" of the wording according to the mindset of the Founders. One can read the Constitution and interpret it to mean whatever they like, but the fact remains that the wording only has one meaning, the meaning the Founders gave them and "in their time".

Many rulings by the Courts over the years have done just that,…

Craig it's great to have you at the chaplains corner. We both seem to share an interest in the founding fathers and our constitution, you may have gathered that from the first thing I posted on the chaplains corner!
I'm sure working on your book has been a blessing. I leave the heavy lifting to guys like David Barton of WallBuilders and yourself to articulate the truths of our founding fathers. Thanks for you many years of fire service. CH Ron
