My prayers and condolences also go out to those who knew Constable Pham. Its a sad week indeed to be a first responder in Ontario. Your brothers and sisters here in the United States share in your grief.

My prayers and condolences go out to all who knew Constable Ochakovsky. I'm sure the entire community in the Peel Region feels his loss.

Hey Boo! Sorry I haven't been around. It's just been a really crazy time around here and I'm super busy with trying to get members for the site. I need to start making some serious money with this thing or I'm going to have to shut it down. Everything I need to do cost money, especially advertising that isn't working. Google really sucks. LOL! Andy is helping alot by promoting USFRA on Tagged and he's going to get a Facebook page along with Tony and Doc, just to promote the site. Hopefully that will bring in a lot of members.

You need to concentrate on getting better, at least good enough to work because knowing you, you will still go in with your leg hanging off your body. Just keep in mind though, you will be of no use to your family if you kill yourself working. Take it easy girl.

Mama love you Boo!

Thanks for the comment Helen and you're right. Traycee has done an excellent job with this site, however, she told me she couldn't have done it without you. I'm hoping to become more than a member here and be the other hand she can count on to help her grow this baby. I'm still learning and when I feel comfortable enough with the postings I'll be able to help.

Take care of yourself and stay safe.

More disaster in the world

GUATEMALA CITY — A strong earthquake has rocked Guatemala and parts of El Salvador, but no there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in either country.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.0.

The USGS says it hit Monday morning about 60 miles (97 kilometres) southwest of Guatemala City, where it was felt by many residents. There were reports of shaking in the Guatemalan countryside and in El Salvador as well.

Another Soldier dies in Afghanistan

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — More than a thousand soldiers saluted Sunday as a Canadian infantryman described as a father figure to his men was given a sad send-off.
Pallbearers slowly carried the casket of Sgt. John Faught to an awaiting transport plane for his final trip back to Canada.
Faught 44, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont, was killed Saturday by a roadside bomb in the Panjwaii district of Kandahar province.
It was the third lethal strike against Canadian troops in as many weeks.

House Fire-All are Safe.

A home in Lower Prospect suffered “significant fire damage” this morning.
Platoon Chief Mike Blackburn said fire crews got the call at 7:17 a.m. and when they arrived found smoke pouring from the back of the home on Lower Prospect Rd.
“I wouldn’t say the house is a total writeoff … but there was significant fire damage,” he said.
The fire chief said there were people at home but they got out without injury.
The cause of the blaze was still undetermined.
“That’s being investigated as we speak,” h… Continue

Halifax Fire Destroys Apartments and Restaurants

A stubborn blaze that kept 40 firefighters busy for hours destroyed several apartments and damaged three restaurants in downtown Halifax on Tuesday.
Residents at 5167 South St. saw smoke and called the Halifax regional fire service just after 8 a.m.
"Our first arriving firefighters did encounter heavy smoke on the second and third floor," Halifax fire service spokesman Dave Meldrum said at the scene.
At the time, he said, no residents were in the three-floor brick building that was built in 1870… Continue

Paramedic's House Burns- Family is safe

Most stories we post here on the site will often touch our hearts, but often we dont know the victims or person thats related to the story. Sadly, this post is about a wonderful Paramedic in my community. He is also my friend and saved my life back in 2003 while rushing me to the ER. He has had a rough year personally and it would seem this New Years hasn't brought him any relief from bad luck. Good point tho, they all were safe from the fire. They did lose everything tho that they owned. PleContinue
