Becoming the Person we are each meant to be

I can't say it enough, this message I keep being told "THERE IS NO SHAME IN ASKING/GETTING HELP"

It seems shameful to have to ask for help. Even as a woman in men dominated fields where you are told "just man up, grow some balls already!" Or really the worse one "you are the strongest woman I know you can get over this". Well you know what? No one can. You have to be very brave, become your own hero and ASK for help, DEMAND help if you have to. It takes time to find the right…

Saturday News

I am sure everyone has heard about the two Firefighters that lost their lives in Boston, and there were a couple others that slip my mind, but anyway lets all say a prayer for all of the LODD.

Remember we are in a dangerous job.

Take a minute and remember them that are keeping us safe

Flood time

Hello all;

Its Friday and time for my weekly reminder about driving and responding to and from what ever it was you went to. Now that its starting to warm up around here its been in the mid 50's and then mid 40's, but anyway the snow is melting and we all know that its time for creeks, rivers and streams to start flooding if they haven't already they will be and I hope you have been reading about what to do and not do in floods and how to help each other. A good article to read is…

Cautionary tale with good progress

Withdrawal...something you cannot "man up and get over it". Whether its the sleep medication, anxiety medication, or for others their anti-depressants. Do NOT just quit. Whether we want to or not it is absolutely important to wean slowly before quitting. Some cause rebounding insomnia, rebound anxiety worse than it was to begin with, and heart irregularities that can cause death.

I share this as its been a horrific, terrifying 21 days+ of no sleep, anxiety, fear, heart & chest…

National Flood Awareness week runs from March 16-22, 2014 and is a nationwide campaign designed to highlight some of the many ways floods can occur, the hazards associated with floods, and what you can do to save life and property.

Hello All:

They the NWS said that we were to get a bad snow storm on Wednesday Mar. 12 and yes we did get a bad storm which it turn into a blizzard and not the ice cream blizzard. Hello All

Good morning to everyone, hope you all are doing well and driving is getting better since we have had several storms and NY has missed some of them but not all, some of you get snow and ice and shut down most stuff and that's because you do not get snow and ice like we do here in the Northeastern states. But some of us that get the stuff still don't know how to drive like you just did going through that intersection without looking. But look at it this way spring is just about two weeks away…

Change your batteries and clocks + check your preparedness stocks this weekend

This Sunday is the start of Daylight Savings Time meaning most people will lose an hour when they “spring forward”.

In addition to changing your batteries and clocks this weekend … take some time to check your preparedness stocks.

For example…

  • Change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO)…
