Storage? Really......do you know what is inside and why are they not marked?

Things that make you go HUM? When you realize what is being stored in them and they are not NFPA HAZMAT PLAZARD Warning......like Flammable, Corrosive, Oxidizer and or a mix of these items. When i see these I think too myself.....Self, if I was the Inspector signing off that this place meet the minimum of the City/County, State and NFPA....and I failed too enforce the rules/regulations what type of LEGAL TROUBLE I'd be in and how many years of Prison time could I be facing if someone lost…

How safe is that static display in your fire district/fire dept area.

VERY DISTURBING PHOTO THAT I TOOK AT A STATIC DISPLAY IN DODGE CITY, KS. As soon as I saw this I stepped into action and pointed out the exposed wires touching the dispay and asked the mother of a child NOT TOO LET HER CHILD TOUCH THE DISPLAY AS I COULD NOT BE SURE THE DISPLAY WAS NOT ENERGIZED. I went for assistance and told workers at Old Town Dodge City....they said they would look into the situations.…

Hotel/Motel Rooms safe for travelers?

As we embark upon the unofficial Summer Vacation Season this coming Memorial Day Weekend in the USA are your hotel/motel rooms ready for the onslaught of visitors too your cities and area attractions?

As I travel the USA the lower 48 states each year I stay in hotel/motels 100+/- days a year and my stays ranger from Motel 6 too Hilton's. I find the same safety issue in many of these. And yes 85% of these that I stay in are in a major city with a paid fire dept with a staffed fire…

Inspections, do a good through inspection. It will save life and property in the long run!

In this article I will post some pictures of a place I use too work at. These pictures were taken with permission of said employer and I took these pictures the same night the fire inspector came and did his so called fire inspection and pass the building as being compliant with State, Local, County Building and BOCA Building Codes. Just look at the gross neglect and how careless the inspector was! Allowing storage of Caustic, Paint Thinners, Paint, Caulk, gallon of WD40, combustibles and…

Friday Fotos: Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse

On May 9 and 10, 2013 millions of sky-gazers saw the spectacle of a lifetime as a “ring of fire” annular solar eclipse crossed the Pacific from Asia to the United States.

According to Space.com the eclipse was best seen in remote parts of western Australia, where the moon covered most — but not all — of the sun, leaving a spectacular ring of light…

Friday Fotos: Spectacular cloud formations

Living in southern Arizona makes one appreciate clouds since we don’t get to see them very often. We average almost 200 sunny days and about 100 partly sunny days a year but, when we are lucky enough to have clouds – esp. late in the day – we get some absolutely gorgeous sunsets.

Clouds are an intricate part of our existance on our little planet and most people probably don’t pay too much attention to them, but sometimes the right conditions can create some incredible formations and…
