At 10am this morning 50% of the coastal town of Surfside Beach was already under water. Bear in mind that landfall of Ike is not expected until between 1am & 4am tomorrow. Roads all up and down the coast are becoming impassible. Galveston County to my south east is expecting to experience 10-12 hours of hurricane force winds once Ike has made landfall. The storm surge at Galveston may well be the highest in history, and the city's seawall is already in danger of being topped.
Its almost 1 o'clock in the afternoon here in Katy. The wind is already up to 17mph gusting to 27. No rain yet. to early for that. For now more waiting. As long as I don't lose power I will try to keep this blog updated as I can.
