"Public Safety Serving Our Community Through Training, Tactics & Education"

This goes along with my recent photo's that I have added to my page, all these years we the training officers and Chief's and so on always showed us how to get into a fire and what we should do once we are in the structure, well now its time to do the same but also what we (firefighter) need to do on getting out in case of emergency or if we run into problems inside. This course was intensive training developed in response to the tragic deaths of many firefighters across the nation in the past several years. Many of those who perished did so because they could not get out of the fire building or area where they were working.

We train our firefighters in hazardouse materials, incident command, confined space, etc, but until recent years there was no course that teaches our firefighters how to save their own lives. If you have not taken a course in Firefighter Survial find one and take it, it was a great course, I have always told my students that if they are ever lost don't just lay there unless they are hurt or trapped get yourself out any way you can find a window, and don't throw the helment out like e were taugh in the olden days, you need this to stay alive, but please get out, find the wall, punch it out, make sure when you do there is a floor in the next room, just start with a small hole to see if this is a room you want to go into and if it is make the hole bigger. Enough for now take this course, get the training, don't think you know how to get out or that this is not going to happen to you and I hope it doesn't, but if it does you will know what to do.

Now for some other tips, those of us in the Snow states lets practice our snow driving and remember to drive slower to that emergeny in bad weather, cause you never know what that other driver on the road is going to do when they see you coming, lights and siren going, so "PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME and DRIVE SAFELY"

The seat belt(s) need to be worn all the time, emergeny vehicles and your own vehicles and have a safe winter stay warm and have a Happy Holiday's. Almost forgot those of you not in the snow states drive safely and do the same as us in the snow states, safety first.
