The tragic event that occurred this weekend in Orlando Florida, is something for all of us to reflect.
Western Civilization is under attack by two very different forces: Those of Islam on the one hand (no, not militant Islam, just Islam), and on the other hand, the Secularist “progressives” of the Left. Between these two forces, each of them a heresy of Christianity, we the men of the West, face a great challenge, to our way of life and to the Christian religion.
Islam is a Christian heresy, since it involves the sons of Abraham, the Virgin Mary, and Jesus of Nazareth, as well as the One True Almighty God, but reorganizes them into a system devoid of the concepts of divine Grace and the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ...., true God and true man, revealed to us through Scripture.
Islam emphasizes divine justice and God’s majesty to the detriment of God’s mercy.
“Neither then do I judge thee,” said our Lord to the woman who according to later Christian tradition washed his feet with her tears, and wiped them with her hair in thanks for the sins he forgave her.
Islam, historically, knows no such mercy!
Likewise, Secularism is a Christian heresy, indeed it is the flip side of Islam. For while Islam does away with divine Grace, and the forgiveness of sins (which is impossible without the Incarnation of Our Lord), Secularism declares that there are no sins to forgive, and denies the existence of any transcendent Justice.
Secularism denies human responsibility for sin, instead blaming the evils of society upon man’s environment and education.
While the Secularists have imbibed the Christian virtue of Mercy from their religious fathers against whom they rebelled, they possess no good reason to uphold this virtue, for they too reject the incarnation of God son into our world as Jesus our Lord.
Love is nothing more than misdirected sexual instinct,...... "any personal sacrifice is an illusion".
While Islam is the enemy from without, slaying our citizens with obvious malice,..... Secularism is the enemy within, slaying the unborn and now the elderly and sick through euthanasia, denying the intrinsic dignity of the human person.
There are nice Muslims, and there are nice Secularists, but Islam and Secularism are both poisonous ideologies. The tendency of each is to stamp out freedom of thought, Christian worship, and the unity of the human with the divine Jesus.
Please pray for the renewal of our Land. And in the meantime, pray for the families of those affected, for the gunman, and the victims of this horrible act of hatred.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” -1 Chron 7:14
Do not be afraid. Our Lord Jesus has promised eternal life to those who are faithful to him, and so no matter what happens to America, we have a Home in The New Jerusalem in Heaven awaiting us.
America is increasingly broken, both through continuing degradation in secular America’s morals as they drift further and further away from Christianity and through a lack of vigilance with regard to allowing those with fundamentally anti-Western views to enter our society and influence it.
Things may look dark at the moment, but the men of God will endure and win. Continue to defend the innocent, and love all those around you with the love of Jesus Christ.
AS for what we are observing now with this and other incidents is a fourth generation warfare where the psychological demoralization of the enemy is key. You go after your opponent’s weakness, their ugliest, and you demonize them with that. If there were no homosexuals to go after, he would have attacked a heterosexual club with women wearing too little clothing, or a church where people dishonor Allah by claiming He sullied Himself by putting on human flesh.
As it was, he attempted to build solidarity with the average American Joe who finds homosexuality disgusting and might reflexively think, “Yeah, well, those gays had it coming.”
But the truth is, we all have it coming...... There is no one righteous, not one. Everyone alive is a sinner, and everyone deserves death.
To zero in on the fact that it was a gay bar this madman chose to attack is to fall into his trap. Those people peacefully gathered at that bar should not have died that night and according to American law, had a right to be there.
Jesus Christ himself associated with tax-collectors, prostitutes and the refuse of Palestine society.
Simply being in that bar at that time should not have merited a death sentence.
Lawless violence against any subclass of people can never be condoned by blaming that violence on provocation. Because that is to lend the act justification. It is also to focus on a symptom of the disease of disordered sexuality rather than the cause, "Secularism".
Each patron of that gay bar was a man or woman created in the image of God. They had human rights. They didn’t deserve to die that night at that gunman’s hands.
May God Have mercy on us.
