About Me
Served as a minister for about 35 years
Served as Chaplain about 25 years
Founded and managed a 24 hour crisis hotline in inner city Detroit for over 3 years
Served for 2 1/2 years as Assistant Staff Chaplain at Cook County Jail in Chicago
Trained in several levels of Critical Incident Stress Management disaster counseling and as a Trained Trainer
Founded the Emergency and Disaster Support Network

In traveling the country for 12 years and even traveling beyond, I have seen so many that are out there "taking care of business" but have not had someone at home to then help them manage the trauma that was experienced. "Suck it up" is not an acceptable way to manage trauma and traumatic events. Sharing with others who do understand what you feel because they have been there before you allows for every responder to have somewhere to go to vent, debrief and sort out what we feel from what we have done.

Having been a Fire Chaplain for over 25 years has made me love fire service so much more than I did when I got started. Hi David, welcome to USFRA! Please feel free to peruse the plethora of amenities we have to offer, including but not limited to, unlimited uploads of photos and videos, outstanding new Fire-Rescue Forum (which is Moderated By Firefighter Brian "Moose" Jones), chat room, blogging as well as creating your own group and encouraging your friends and co-workers to join.

We've recently launched the USFRA Link directory for non profits, the Events calendar, where you can contribute your community events as well training schedules.

Also, on the newly launched roster is the USFRA Job Bank, with our partner, Simply Hired, which is located in the right column.

You are also able to pimp out your profile page to make it uniquely yours by adding graphics or changing themes (see my page for inspiration) if you need any help please let me know!
