In Memory of William I. Dietrich

The Funkstown Fire Company regrets to announce the passing of one of their own. William Irwin Dieterich of Hagerstown passed this past Saturday at Washington County Hospital. Bill was a Life Time Member of the Funkstown Fire Company. He first joined our department back in the mid to early 70's. Bill was a well known member in the fire service throughout Washington County. He loved sharing his knowledge of the fire service and reminiscing about his past experiences.
Along with proudly being one of our firefighters, Bill also was a member with Antietam Fire Company, South End Fire Company and Pioneer Hook & Ladder where he served as a Captain of the department for 10 years.

A memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Steve Wagoner will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Graveside honors provided by the Hagerstown Firefighters Local 1605 honor guard.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.
