Learn how the Portland Police Bureau's Domestic Violence Reduction Unit (DVRU) teamed with Portland State University to develop and deploy a different—and highly successful—approach to fighting domestic violence. Recognizing that offender identities and criminal histories are often readily available in these cases and that their future risk can be accurately assessed, the DVRU has implemented a program that takes advantage of predictive risk assessment tools to stem the growth of domestic violence.
