The Basic All Weather Mounted Search & Rescue Training Course

A Mounted Search & Rescue (MSAR) team has been established by the Village of Melrose Park's Office of Public Safety-Homeland Security. The MSAR team is being organized and trained for primary service in the Cook County area, and may also be deployed anywhere in the state upon request of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency. The MSAR team will serve in the Emergency Services division of the Village of Melrose Park's Office of Public Safety-Homeland Security. The head of the Office of Public Safety-Homeland Security is Chief Philip C. Schwartz. The MSAR team leader is Lieutenant Ronald T. Vasser and Sergeant David Cooper is the MSAR team logistics and communications specialist. You can visit our website at www.mpps.us .
What are the training requirements? It is essential that ALL MSAR team members are trained to the best of their ability to conduct ground and mounted search & rescue operations in a safe and effective manner and to also be trained in basic first aid and basic life support procedures
The course is being provided at no cost.
Registration is required prior to the course.
(You must bring your own horse)

The Basic All Weather Mounted Search & Rescue Training Course is being offered only to personnel who are interested in joining the Melrose Park Mounted Search & Rescue Team.
