SHERIFF’S OFFICE HOLDS CITIZEN’S ACADEMY
Have you ever wondered just what goes on behind the scenes of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office?
While proud of the marked patrol cars commonly seen on the roads of Bay County, the BCSO also has a Criminal Investigations Division, Community Services Division, Mounted Posse, Support Services Division, a Crime Scene Unit, and a Warrants Division.
Beginning on October 1, from 6 to 9pm, Sheriff Tommy Ford offers you the opportunity to attend the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Police Academy and learn more about the BCSO. Hear from the men and women who serve this county as School Resource Deputies, in the Aviation Unit, and as narcotics officers. Meet the EOD Unit, the Marine Unit, SWAT, and K9 Team.
The Citizen’s Police Academy meets six times. The first five meetings will be on consecutive Tuesdays at 6pm beginning October 1 and ending October 29, 2019. The final meeting will be on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at a time to be announced, but it will be held during daylight hours.
To register to attend the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Police Academy call the BCSO at 747-4700 and ask for Ms. Peggy MacDonald. Seating is limited, so call today.
