I have been a Guardian Angel for many years in two different chapters.I have held many jobs in the field of public safety;Lifeguard,Security/Executive protection,Boston Special Police,Military Police/Combat Field Medic, and EMT in the state of Ma.I have found the most satisfaction though being a Guardian Angel Volunteer.I originally joined the G.A. organization in Boston in the early days in 1982.The response from many LEO'S at that time was very negative to say the least. Here we are now 33 years later and the Guardian Angels are Worldwide (14 different Countries and over 180 Cities)and The attitudes are different. For the most part LEO's Across the Globe have shown a better understanding and appreciation for who the G.A.'s are and for what we do.I believe that there is a common understanding that it takes a very special breed of person to put on a badge and uphold the law every day, just as it takes a special breed of person to put on the "Red Beret" and go out and patrol the troubled areas of our communities.I have the UTMOST RESPECT FOR ALL LEO'S and I would love to hear what your opinions are of the Guardian Angels and what we do,do you think we are a benefit to the community or do you think otherwise.I welcome ALL opinions I just ask that you post your comments politely and respectfully,BY ALL MEANS PLEASE BE HONEST THOUGH!
I have great respect for the G.A. and what you all do. Personally I've never lived where you guys have been needed, however, from people I've spoken with, for the most part, your efforts are considered a God-send. I've also heard that once the G.A. leave a particular neighborhood, it inspires the community to take up where they leave off and start their own community patrol units. I say good job G.A. and keep up the great work.
I too have great respect for G.A. and admire Mr. Sliwa for his vision and dedication. I've seen and heard him on several interviews over the years and love his passion .. and hope that there is always a mutual respect and understanding for your efforts not only with LEOs but entire communities.
The respect flows here too for the Angels. Keep up the great work!
I agree with everyone here, as a Marine and a Firefighter, I have come across several chapters of G.A. and have had nothing but positive and professional outcomes from each. Good jobs guys!
