Bob Allard's Blog (124)

Good morning all

Well, it's that time of the year when here in WNY (Western New York) that we get all kinds of different weather but this year we are getting a lot of rain and I do me a lot of rain. The Lake is up about 3 inches it may seem not a lot to some but around here that is a lot and still rising all the extra water has to go somewhere and it's finding its way downstream flooding rivers, creeks, streams and so on and so forth. It going to be hard for the farmers to get out and plant as many of the…

How are we all doing and how is the driving going. I am sorry to let's bow our heads and say a prayer for the FDNY firefighter who lost his life during the week,......................I have seen several of the big fire dept's have hired several new Firefighter's as several have retired or there were several openings that…

Hello All

Hello All, well it winter here in NY but I can not complain to much as I do not have much snow in my yard (1/2") if even that much. Its been good so far so I have to knock on wood. How has the driving been doing with everyone and those with snow how is the driving. I just took a course to reduce my car insurance which is 6 hours long and I  did it on-line as the person who use to teach it on the base where I worked has retired from doing it, miss his classes as he was a NY State Trooper. We…

Thank you all

First of all let's bow our heads and say a prayer for the Police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.............

Next, i want to say what the Hell is going on with the killing of Police officers, do the people who do this think its some time of game by killing anyone they want and then the bastards (sorry for the bad word) usually kill themselves cause they have no guts to do the time. This is just not what we need in USA. Please stop and think of what you are…

During the week I was very ill and was take to the ER by my wife as I could not keep anything down and all I was drinking was water and a high fever that would not come down below 102. Hello All

Well its me here again and I am not very happy as I have been reading again and all my writing has gone into the trash as I have read to many articles of Fire Vehicles rolling over or getting into a accident were it was there fault. Why, because we just don't understand the rules of the road is how I take it, yes we have to get there in a hurry be not at the risk of killing or injuring yourself or your crew or others. Let's take that time to go through those intersections WITH caution, look…

Its Friday

Hello all;

Its been awhile for me as I have been busy doing this and doing that and then going here and you know the rest of the story. I have also been doing some reading and its not good from what I have been reading. WE NEED TO WATCH OUR DRIVING SKILLS, to many roll-overs and T-Bones and other accidents. I believe I even read a article about a Fire Vehicle getting a ticket for going through a Red or Stop sign. I always said slow and look both ways then proceed with care. I…

Home Sprinklers

This is so wrong it looks like we need to do a Better and Bigger push so we can get this in the next Code Enforcement in 2018, so all my NY Firefighters we need to start now and all departments need to get in the ears of our elected people and see if they can help us in this.

On March 9, 2016, the New York State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council (Code Council) dashed any hopes that the fire service had of implementing a new…

Well I had a rough week starting with last Wednesday when I became ill to the point I had to go to the ER for fluids as I was dehydrated and they also gave me some meds to calm my stomach down and to stop the nausea. Yes I was very sick and I don't get sick to the point of hospital visit. I do not go to those places every time I feel sick. I have to be all most dead before I go. My wife loaded me into her vehicle and away we went, messed her evening up from her paint group and we were there…
