DETAILS OF THE FIRE BELOW:
YONKERS, NY - At approximately 6:15pm on March 12, 2019, the Yonkers Fire Department was dispatched to 15 Parkview Avenue for an apartment building fire. The fire which appeared to have started on the top floor of the 6-story building, quickly took control of the cockloft, and brought the fire to a 4th alarm. A general alarm was then called to bring in all off-duty firefighters. More than 150 families were displaced and a shelter was set up for them at Roosevelt High School. There are no reported injuries and the fire looks to be caused by plumbers using blowtorches to weld and sweat pipes inside a 6th floor apartment.
