The Brotherhood Ride consists of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel who ride bicycles to honor those who have died in the line of duty and WE NEED YOUR HELP. Our organization's sole purpose is to provide emotional support to the families of fallen emergency first responders. We feel by riding approximately one year after the incident, it proves to the families that we have not forgotten their loved ones. This year we will be honoring ten Emergency First Responders from Florida, who died in the line of duty during 2014. The team will consist of 30 firefighters and law enforcement officers from across America coming to your community. Please visit our website at www.brotherhoodride.com to learn more about our ride to honor the fallen heroes.

This Week's Hero!

Lt. Shannon Bush with his wife Krista and their child Jordan.

Lake County Fire Rescue Lt. Shannon Bush only thought he was taking a vacation from work when he and his family decided to spend a few days at an Orlando-area resort last week.

Instead, the 14-year department veteran and Emergency Medical Technician found himself saving the life of a 4-year-old who nearly drowned, according to a press release issued Thursday.

A little girl, who had moments earlier walked by and said hello to the family, was discovered lying at the bottom of the hotel pool.

“She was lifeless and unresponsive, so I started doing the things I was trained to do,” Bush said in the release. “I started doing CPR. I gave a couple of breaths, then continued doing compressions while others took over giving breaths. After about two minutes, I checked for a pulse and she had a strong pulse and started moving.”

SPOTLIGHT! Take Me Home Program

Over the weekend our deputies recovered a missing and confused 65-year old man who's been diagnosed with dementia walking on Racetrack Road. He was returned safely to his family. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind citizens about our free Take Me Home program which can be a huge help if someone with

special needs wanders away and is unable to share an address due to confusion or other challenges. Here's the link to our web page:

Take Me Home Program The Take Me Home Program maintains a database of persons who may need assistance due to special needs. The information in the database includes a picture,...
