PTSD and Menopause

Posted by Bree N. on January 25, 2015 at 6:00am 3 Comments

Yeah....then there's that.

The unmentionable of the most unmentionable. On my own path with this I had to go through this one too. Fairly young for it, bloodwork discovered I was 'pre' and the only hormone low as testosterone. Therein became a very long, eight year battle of the hormones and PTSD. There are those out there who always argue with me that women aren't given testosterone, but they are. There is also a reason that EMTs are trained to ask women if they are on Viagra. So… Continue

PTSD Growth: Groundhog day

Posted by Bree N. on January 23, 2015 at 7:30am 0 Comments

Groundhog day. This week someone described what my days are like as each day being a "groundhog day". To be honest they are very similar. My days are like a groundhog day in that each day is a new day. There are no yesterdays, no tomorrows except occasionally. The urgency I used to have about yesterday and tomorrow are just not there. Perhaps these "groundhog days" are a gift in a way?

My visual memory has been demolished. This I know. Yet as I've healed slowly it comes back and I… Continue

Regt., took home top honors for the NCO officer group. Photo by Sgt. Alexander Oliver, 1st Support Bn.

Battle Creek officers stop to help man in wheelchair shovel snow

It’s a story out of Battle Creek that’s going viral online.

Rob Hall tells Newschannel 3 that he was helping a friend work on his house on Jericho Road when he saw a man in a wheelchair trying to shovel his driveway by himself.

Hall says he went to get his coat to help out, but when he opened the door he saw two Battle Creek Police officers had already stopped to help the man.

Hall snapped a few pictures and then went to help the officers. He says with all the bad publicity that police have received across the nation it was a great sight to see.

“The real heroes are the cops,” said Hall. “They’re the ones that stopped and helped a guy out and at the right place at the right time.”
