One of the tools the enemy uses in the church is the spirit of offense.
He knows if he can get you offended, you’re easily distracted. He will make sure that people of the same spirit of offense will find each other- and they will wallow in the pool of juicy one- sided drama. But rarely do they take the time to observe who is in the pool with them, and how often they are in the pool with the same kind of people.
This weapon is powerful because those involved many times are shallow at best in their Christian walk- The Word of God teaches that the Holy Spirit leads in ALL truth, not just partial, not just the side you choose to jump on. The spirit of offense takes the place of the voice of God and your ability to rightly divide. The spirit of offense WILL assist in keeping you in the cycle you have forever been “trying” to be free of. Offense turns to gossip, gossip turns to bitterness, bitterness turns to finding enmity between yourself and others. Enmity with others, will eventually lead you to separation from the Lord. It’s a root- and it needs to go!!
